Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa is a dynamic style of yoga which links breath and movement through a heat building sequence of asanas (postures). This class will dive deep into all asanas with a non-aggressive approach and moderate pace. Movements are fluid and there is a focus of correct alignment, which creates stability and ease within each posture. Advanced poses will be given in these classes and modifications for the less experienced student. Bring a towel, breaking a sweat is almost guaranteed!
TRX
TRX® Suspension Training® harnesses your own bodyweight to create resistance as you train. That's all you need - the TRX and your own body. No additional weights required.
Killer abs are great, but more importantly, having a strong core will prevent injuries, improve posture and increase overall strength. This is because all of our movements are powered by the torso - the abs and back work together to support the spine during everyday activities and exercise. Suspension Training builds core strength with every exercise by creating an element of instability that calls on your core to provide balance and coordination.
Unlike traditional weight training that tends to be linear and follow one plane of movement (sagittal), Suspension Training encourages multiplanar training (frontal, sagittal, transverse) which integrates all your motions and mimics real life movement. This will bring a muscular balance to your body, increasing performance and preventing injuries.
Gyrokinesis
GYROKINESIS® exercises allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation. This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated along with the movements.
Fluidity is the key. Postures are not held for long periods of time. Instead, postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making exercises appear and feel more like a dance and swimming than like traditional yoga.
A typical GYROKINESIS® class begins with participants practicing self-massage and simple breathing patterns, something Juliu Horvath has named, "Awakening of the Senses." Then the spine and pelvis are engaged through simple exercises: while seated on low stools, participants mobilize the spine through a series of arching, curling, bending, twisting and spiraling movements. These same movement patterns are expanded to release the hip, knee, hamstring, quadriceps and so on, in all possible directions: front, back, twisting and turning. The corresponding breathing patterns executed during every movement stimulate the nervous system, open up the energy pathways and oxygenate the blood. The more advanced classes offer endurance training to participants prepared for more strenuous activities. All GYROKINESIS® classes, from beginner to advanced, encompass not only sitting but also laying and standing positions.
